Experience Bryan College Station - Marketing & Communications Internship
The mission of Experience Bryan College Station is to enhance economic growth through the marketing and promotion of the Bryan College Station area as a premier destination experience. Experience Bryan College Station is an industry leader in promoting a community that embraces a diversity of unique experiences, traditions and innovation.
Students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and interested recent graduates are welcome to apply. We’re looking for someone with a desire to organize & manage communication and marketing projects, the ability to see projects through to completion, excellent organizational skills, and a strong work ethic. Experience with one or any of the following is a plus, but not required: Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Publisher (or any other graphic design software), photo/video shooting skills, or video editing in Adobe Premiere. Experience with various social media platforms, writing, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are also preferred.
Pay: School Credit/Volunteer Hours
During my internship, I became so much more familiar with Bryan/College Station. I checked on local events for social media posts, and was able to be much more helpful to any visitors that came in or called. I strengthened my social media skills in Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, by understanding our leisure market and how to make a compelling post. In addition, my writing skills also strengthened as I was allowed to write blog posts for our partnership with TexAgs. This internship allowed me to understand what a CRM (customer relationship management) and CMS (content management system) are and how they can work together to maximize the number of hits on our website; as well as a portal for hotels and businesses to utilize as well.
This internship led me to start working part time for Experience BCS, as an Administrative Assistant. I love that I am able to stay in a tourism focused organization that enhances the community with its information and partnerships. If anyone is interested in tourism, marketing, or communications, I definitely recommend this internship! If you have any questions about this experience, please email me at angelakrupp@tamu.edu.
